Brunello is the CEO and Head of Research at Rosa & Roubini Associates. Before co-founding this venture with Nouriel Roubini, he served as co-Head of Research and Managing Director for Developed Markets, G10 Rates/Currencies at Roubini Global Economics. Brunello joined RGE from the Bank of England, where he had mainly worked in Markets, in the division that implements monetary policy and provides liquidity insurance. He also briefly served in the Bank’s Financial Stability area and its Centre for Central Banking Studies. He is author of “Smart Money. How digital currencies will win the new Cold War – and why the West needs to act now,"" which was selected by the Financial Times among the Best Economics Books in 2024.

Brunello Rosa is an Adjunct Professor at the Bocconi University’s Business School (SDA), after being for several years Visiting Professor at its Department of Social and Political Sciences. He is also a Honorary Visiting Professor in the School of Policy and Global Affairs at City, University of London. Previously he was Visiting Lecturer at the Department of International Politics and a research fellow of the City Political Economy Research Centre of the same university. He is also an Associate at the Centre For Macroeconomics and a Visiting Senior Fellow of the School of Public Policy of the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he is the convener of the Executive Education course ""Global Macroeconomic Challenges,"" after being for several years a practitioner lecturer in finance for MSc students. He was previously a Research Associate at the Systemic Risk Centre and Financial Markets Group of the LSE. He was a Guest Speaker at the MSc in Central Banking and Financial Regulation co-organised by the Warwick University Business School and the Bank of England, within the module on Behavioural Finance.
