In 2015, Brenda founded Helping Handbags Worldwide, an initiative created to support homeless women and address period poverty. The movement gained international attention and was featured in a BBC Scotland documentary, later expanding globally and relaunching in the United States as Hopeful Handbags, continuing to provide vital support to women in need across communities.

A passionate advocate for storytelling as a tool for empowerment, Brenda is also the founder of Book Brilliance Publishing, where she supports aspiring and established authors in sharing their stories and insights with the world. Through her acclaimed Voices anthology series, including Voices of Courage, Voices of Hope, Resilient Voices (Lockdown), Voices of Strength, and Voices of Women, she has created a platform for individuals to share powerful narratives of resilience and transformation. The series was named a finalist in the Business Book Awards 2025, alongside global publishing leaders such as Forbes, Disney, and Yellow Kite.

Brenda’s contributions to humanitarian work, education, and leadership have earned her international recognition, including the Forttuna Legacy Maker Award and Publisher of the Year (2025), Gender & Human Rights Global Ambassador (2024), Forttuna Award for Lifetime Services to Education (2024), the IAOTP Change Maker Award (2023), and induction into Who’s Who of the World (2022).

She has also served as Chief Operations Officer of the International Institute of Influencers, further strengthening her role in supporting global voices and thought leaders.
