Amitabh Lal Das is a distinguished legal professional with both Indian and UK legal qualifications. After early experience practicing in courts and working with leading law firms, he transitioned into senior corporate leadership roles, serving as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer across prominent organizations. He currently serves as the Chief Legal Officer of a Nifty Sixty multinational company in India, where he played a key role in India’s largest ever IPO.

Widely recognized as a seasoned and accomplished General Counsel and a C-suite corporate leader, Amitabh brings over three decades of rich domestic and international experience spanning the full spectrum of legal practice, including litigation in courts, senior roles in law firms, and leadership positions as General Counsel in US, Indian, and Korean companies. His professional experience covers diverse sectors such as technology services, internet, media, advertising, telecom, financial services, and automotive manufacturing and sales.

Beyond his legal expertise, he has developed strategic capabilities in compliance, corporate governance, risk management, and public policy. He is an alumnus of St. Stephen’s College and the Campus Law Centre, both under the University of Delhi. In 2000, he was awarded the prestigious British Chevening Scholarship for Young Indian Lawyers, through which he earned a diploma in English and EU Commercial Laws and Practice.

Committed to continuous learning and professional growth, Amitabh has further completed a one-year programme in Finance and a nine-month programme in Human Resources from XLRI Jamshedpur. He also holds an International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management, UK. In addition to his executive leadership roles, he has served as a Board Director and is included in the Indian Government-mandated database of independent directors, having fulfilled all required proficiencies.
